Organize public-source files, timelines, and case documentation
Submit FOIA requests to government agencies
Submit public information and research notes
Provide information to law enforcement through proper channels
Volunteer Researchers CANNOT
Accept payment, gifts, rewards, tips, reimbursement, or anything of value for research activity
Offer paid research or case-work services through NotYetSolved
Solicit compensation from families, advocates, attorneys, agencies, or other users
Contact witnesses, suspects, victims' families, law enforcement, employers, schools, agencies, or private individuals about a case without written authorization
Represent themselves as private researchers, law enforcement, representatives of NotYetSolved, or representatives of a family
Interfere with active law-enforcement cases, court cases, or law-enforcement activity
Use restricted, stolen, hacked, confidential, or unlawfully obtained information
Share restricted case material outside the platform
Remember: You are a volunteer researcher. Your role is to organize public information, document findings, and submit credible information to law enforcement through proper channels. The cases on this platform involve real people and real families. Conduct yourself accordingly.
